Conversation With A Spirit Guide
Recently I posted about starting our new blog Stir the Cauldron (Creative Inspiration or I’m Just Crazy), and how I felt that it was “inspired” into being created by something other then just my love of Tarot and that perhaps there might some nudging from a Spirit Guide.
The other day I decided to sit down and try to make a more concrete connection and communication, so I did a small Tarot card reading and tried a bit of automatic writing using the computer keyboard.
Here is an excerpt of the conversation:
Q: Are you the same guide I’ve felt before?
A: I have been with you many times before in this lifetime, yes.
Q: I sense that there is more then one, that there is also another?
A: Does it matter?
[Since I am only slightly convinced that there is even one, I suppose it doesn't really matter for now if there is a second. Also since this was the first time trying to build a connection and communicte directly, I decided to take the hint and not push for a more direct answer.]
Q: How can I know that you are not just my imagination working over time? Do you have a name? Are you male or female?
A: There is no proof, it is only in your mind, therefore you will always doubt but doubt is good, it does not devalue the message or learning. Doubt is part of the process. Names can be limiting, gender can be limiting; your issues cloud your response to the assignment of gender, assumptions become blocks. Spirits are inherently non-gender, in the physical body a soul takes on gender. Spirits can and do take on the form of a gender to communicate with those on the physical plane but not always.
[I can definitely see how my past childhood issues and tramas with male and female authority figures might cloud a relationship based on gender, since I have a mistrust of both but for different reasons.]
Q. I would really like to know what to call you.
A: **a definite pause and pulling back of energy followed but a burst of amusuement** Merlot
Q: Mer - LoT (pronunciation with hard t) ?
A: No Merlot. (sensed the pronouciation with long o, silent t)
Q: Mer - low (pronunciation) - like the Wine?
A: **sense of laughter** No, like a combination of Merlin and Tarot.
Q: And you think that is amusing?
A: **more laughing**
[I have to agree it is kinda funny]
Q: Is there anything you want to say before we end this session?
A: Learning comes in many forms and can be any where, even if you are not aware of spirit guides.
Later in the evening I was half watching the movie, The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, while I was working on the computer. I got a definitely “nudge” and the thought “did you hear that?”, I looked up and only caught the last part of the sentence being said in the movie, so I rewound it (love having that feature with the dvr) to hear the last line:
Followed by that “amused” feeling again, and sensing “See I told you lessons come in all forms. If you were not paying attention you would have missed it, and there is no rewind button in life.”
So it seems I have a Spirit Guide with a sense of humor. I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting journey.

Fantastic, my mums spirit guide has a wicked sence of humour too and I find it so amusing.
Mine however still wont tell me his name :o( … maybe I need to be more demanding and stop being so nice hehe!!
“The things that make life worth living can not be thought, they must be felt.”
My feelings and emotions are all over the place so I know I am alive!
not quite sure why I ended up here, but enjoyed!
Thanks every one for stopping by.
As to why you ended up here 94stranger - fate perhaps?
Posh - don’t fret over the name too much, I know it’s frustrating, you could just “give” your guide a name that you like - if she\he doesn’t like it then maybe they will tell you what she\he prefers to be called.
Nancy - so glad to hear your are amongst the living hehehe
