Saving Money With Online Coupons
I am not always as frugal as I should be, I admit it. But when I do shop I nearly always avoid paying full price and I have passed this mind-set onto my kids. They are both of the opinion that given a $25 budget for new shoes they would much rather buy shoes at “discount stores” like Walmart or Payless where they can get 2, 3, or even more pairs of sneakers for the price of one. They have both been trained to peruse clearance racks at clothing shops, video game stores, and even bookstores.
But what to do when you don’t have time to shop or need something that isn’t available in your local stores? Shop online of course! Most of my own shopping for the holiday season is done online every year, not only because of the convenience but because I tend to find that I can get better deals with less effort that way. And those deals are always better when I take the extra few minutes to look through clearance “racks” and look for and use online coupons and savings codes.
There are many sites that lead shoppers to the “best bargains” but as a rule these feature whatever the site manager feels is in their best interest to push. At savings.com the deals featured are voted on by visitors to the site so you are seeing in “real time” what real shoppers like you feel are the greatest bargains available. Not only does the staff at savings.com hunt for these deals but they also allow site visitors to submit new promo codes, promotional codes, discounts, deals, etc. that they come across in their own shopping. The result is a plethora of ways to save money on nearly anything you might be buying online.
The stie is easy to navigate and allows you to peruse savings by category such as clothing & fashion, health & beauty, even travel & entertainment (even things like Orbitz promotion codes). You can peruse alphabetized listings to find a specific store. You can even use their search function.
A recent search on their site for Amazon (my favorite online store ever) led to deals such as saving $20 on a $100 woman’s dress shoe purchase, buy 3 books get 1 free, and a sale marking boxed set DVDs up to 55% off. Odds are I wouldn’t have known about these sales without looking around savings.com first.
In these difficult times of bone crunching debt, rising gas prices, increasing food costs, etc. it is wize to pinch every penny and stretch every dollar. Of course the first course of action should always be to curb unnecessary spending, but when you do need to shop, shop wisely and make use of any coupon or sale you can find. Next time you are about to buy something online (or even before you set out to make a larger purchase in a brick & mortar store), look first at sites like savings.com to make sure you aren’t spending more than you have to.
Be well
