Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow - Part 2

Just this morning on my twitter account I was lamenting that I needed a day off.  I was only about 45 minutes into my work day when I received a call telling me that Miss Artistic (the Elder child) had thrown up on a table and needed to be picked up from school.  Since GamerDude was sick and needed a doctor appointment (and therefore the use of our one car) anyway I stayed home for the day accepting the inevitable loss of pay.

During our time together on our shared “day off” Miss Artistic & I discussed a commissioned piece of art I am going to pay her to work on.  I am going to have her re-do our top graphic and from there work on buttons and whatnot for the side-bars.  I sketched up what I want and will pay her when the work is completed.  I also talked with her about ideas for a CafePress store where I would pay her for the design and then a per-item bonus on every item that sells.  It is a way for me to allow to to earn extra pocket money while also encouraging her artistic abilities - pretty sneaky huh?

Other than that my day was spent watching a couple of movies (in bits & pieces) inbetween making tea and toast for two sickies, and helping Princess Nibbles (who Miss Artistic feels should be named Miss Sunshine) with a poster project for school tomorrow.

Miss Artistic was “miraculously recovered” by the afternoon and the girls spent more time working on my Mother’s Day gift.  It seems to be almost done by the brief glimpse I caught of it (shhhh don’t tell them).

Now, last night I had told GamerDude that I thought he had strep throat.  He doubted me.  He doubted even his need to go to the doctor but in the end he listened to me.  The doctor even doubted me, in spite of my uncanny knack for self-dianosing ear and/pr sinus infections.  In any case, I was right.  Somehow it is less than satisfying considering the fact that Hubby is upstairs on the couch feverish, achy, and miserable. But still …. I was right!

The doctor gave him a 5-day antibiotic script along with a coupon which made it free, which came in handy since his 2 other scripts cost a total of $65.  He should be well on his way to recovery in time for Mother’s Day.  On the down side I am feeling a bit “off” and am hoping that I am not coming down with it.  My throat is feeling achy and scratchy, my chest a little heavy, and I am more headachy than usual.

I have the rest of the evening ahead of me and am looking forward to a restful night, even if I have to take a sleep-aid to accomplish it so that I am bright-eyed and bushy tailed for my outing tomorrow.

May each of you enjoy your evenings as well

  1. I for one am very happy to hear you had a day off. It’s about time. Sounds like you and Miss Artistic had a great and wonderful day together.

I love her new name too.

  2. Strep is nothing to scoff at! I learned the hard way. Awhile back, I had no health insurance, was sick, but ignored it. It was strep (I didn’t know it then) and because I didn’t get it taken care of, it then turned into rheumatic fever. I was never so sick!!! It was awful and cost me more money and days off in the long run. Miserable. So, tell Gamer Dude he should ALWAYS listen to you (regardless!) =)

Do mega-doses of Vitamin C so you can enjoy your day tomorrow! Good luck and everyone get/stay well!
