In lieu of my usual bit of prayer or poetry that begins my weekly foray into taking time for gratitude I share this bit from Lady Rose …….
During the closing cirlce at Womongathering a song kept going around in my head , I was pretty sure I’d never heard it before (Mama Kelly even googled the lyrics to be on the safe side). I can’t sing at all, but Mama Kelly was kind enough to get it up on the blog (Listen to it here) while we were together visiting this weekend. It is dedicated to all the wonderful women at Womon Gathering. It was a pleasure and an honor to have spent time with each and every one of you.
“Women of beauty
Women of healing
Women of power
We honor you one and allWomen of beauty
Women of healing
Women of power
We thank you one and allWomen of beauty
Women of healing
Women of power
Sisters one and all”Copyright 2008

sung by Mama Kelly (forgive me where I go a bit flat)
So this week we are each grateful for the experience of Womongathering and the promise of our return in 2009. We are also each grateful for the presence of each other in our lives. We are grateful for daughters who are growing “in beauty and in strength”. We are grateful for Reiki glow, Reiki guides, and the insanity that the two together inspire.
And also, we are grateful to all of our readers and friends.
Bright Blessings to all
Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again
(at next year’s Womon Gathering!)

That’s a lovely song. Happy BYB Sunday.
I like it. Thanks for recording the song so I could hear it. I have one suggestion. I would do it as a call and response. So leader or a few women do the first line, then the group sings it back and repeat the process with the second and third lines. Then all join in for the last line.
Marianna
LOL Marianna that is too funny - as I drove home from Mama Kelly’s I found my singing the tune (and I heard in my head the response of a group of women singing the lines after each one gathered around a large fire) — it was awesome (their part, my voice is well - I don’t sing)
Perhaps we could do it next year the closing ceremony?
Sounds good to me!!!!
What a wonderful song. Made me smile and sad all at the same time because it reminded me of Womongathering (which made me smile) and currently not being there (which made me sad). Thanks for the tune and finding a way to share.

Wonderful. All I can say is “Sisters doing it all …”
It’s amazing how something so simple can have such power. The haunting nature of the tune is very memorable. I found myself wishing there were more lyrics . . . that it would go on much longer. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Wonderful! I actually found myself singing along with Mama Kelly - the tune was easy to catch on to and the words speak volumes. This is something I would love to be in a group singing.
[...] Mama Kelly: Oooo that sounds good to me!! Maybe we’ll even shoot another video (or two) and record some more stuff on evoca, like we did for the song/chant you wrote. [...]
