Lessons From Womon Gathering

Here is a summary of some of the lessons I learned (remembered) while at Womon Gathering and hope to carry with me in my heart and spirit each and every day.

Affirmation that came to me during a meditation:

Just for today I’m going to remember
I have the power and the wisdom within me
to deal with whatever the day brings.
I will let go of stress, worry, and anger
and let healing and love flow through me.
Just for today, one moment to the next.

(note when move post to new location - affirmation in separate post)

To take care and honor self first, this is essential for all of us so we can do what we were meant to do in life as well as what we want to do each day and in order to nurture our loved ones and the planet
All emotions are welcome and honored within sacred space.
I am valued, useful and needed, regardless of age or physical ability.
I can laugh and cry and be whole
I am a healer
I am safe, loved, nourished and empowered to set my boundaries.

I “remembered” that no matter where you are or what you are doing, you are always on your path.  There is no “off” your path, in any given moment you are doing exactly what you should be doing for you, though some paths can get very bumpy and may even have huge potholes, it is still your path and you will grow, learn, and become all that you were meant to be.

I also remembered that the connection to spirit and the Goddess is always there, even at the darkest of times, even when it “feels” as if it is missing.  There are times we may turn away, ignore it, cover it up with emotional baggage and strangling throughts, but the connection is always there - we just need to open our eyes.

I was able to do more physically active at Womon Gathering then I have been able to do for a very long time. I walked all over, from one of end of the camp grounds to another for various classes and rituals. I sat on the damp ground in the early morning and later in the evening. My knees didn’t swell and the only discomfort I had was a bit of soreness on the bottom of my feet from the new sandels I had and a little stiffness in the hips when getting up. I’m sure it was a combination of the lack of stress, the fresh air, the excitment of being there, but I know that being on sacred ground and learning Reiki had a lot to do with it also. I hope to carry a piece of that sacredness and healing with me now and always, and to be able to share it with loved ones.

I also did a three-card spread Tarot Reading, can read about it at Stir the Cauldron post - Tarot Reading at Womon Gathering.

Bright blessings to all, Lady Rose

  1. I wrote your affirmation down in my little book. Good one for me too! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Tink - I’m so glad you found it useful :)

  3. I wrote it down as well. I also made a copy and hung it up in my office, for that’s where I will need the reminder the most. Thank you.
