Meditation at the Sacred Fire

While at Womon Gathering Mama Kelly and I spent time each day at the Sacred Fire.  This year the center was designed with the infinity symbol with the fire on one side and a pond (water) on the other .  You entered from the Southeast, walked the infinity symbol as you entered (and before you left), and were welcome to sit by the fire or pond or any of the 8 directions that were marked with altars around the sacred circle space.

I found myself drawn to the west, (color black, symbols - mirror, snake, spiral), and that is where I spent most of my time when I sat within the the sacred fire, reflecting on my purpose and path in life.

Here are the notes from my meditation there:

Mirror, reflection - key to your life’s puropse.  As the snake sheds it’s skin, shed what you believe, what you are holding on to (the past let it go), spiral into a new level of understanding.

You are a reflection, core\center, a still pool, a facilitator of change, a sign post to point the direction.  But that direction is not concrete, and must be found within person for themselves.

One does not impart wisdom, one knows thy self, and by being still within oneself, calming the ripples of the pond (thoughts and emotions) and becoming the mirror, it points the way for others to discover their own wisdom and their own center.

Silence is the greatest of all teachers.  Learning spirals out of silence.  Sacred space without reflects the sacred space within.  Wisdom comes form nothiness, shedding away all that is not needed.

Death is the ultimate stillness.  No fear, no pain.  The quiet reflection of life, from which all things return and all are reborn.  Through death comes transformation and rebirth.  Releasing the old concepts of you, shedding the skin that no longer serves you, come to the stillness and quiet of you (death of the old self, renewal of self), from your center, your stillness walk in wisdom and strength, a mirror to those who need to find their way, their reflection will lead them.

Bright Blessings, Lady Rose
