When Science Meets Spirituality

One of my favorites quotes goes something like this:  “When science gets to the top of the mountain, it will find that religion is already there.”   I prefer to think of it as, when science and religion get to the top of the mountain, they will both find Spiriritualy is already there. 

But any way you word it, I really enjoy finding articles about new science discoveries that confirms something that is usually considered to be “spiritual” or “magical” in nature, such as this recent article about human and animal biology: 

Hardly any aspect of our biology is distinctly human. There is no definitively human type of neuron, and while it is possible that there are a few human-specific genes, they alone cannot explain the differences between “us” and “them.” Recently, we have found that even most human mental tricks have some rudimentary analogue in the animal world and most elements of human culture have a resonance in other species.  ~New Scientist 24 May 2008 p. 3

Any pagan, witch or any one who truly knows animals already “knows” there is very little difference between humans and animals, and now there is at least a little science to back that up.
